Our new baby room residents, Boris the spider and Bernard the snake (do not fear....both are of the plastic variety!) have been keeping the children occupied this week. They live in little plastic pots and the children are very aware of them. The staff have been using these pretend animals as though real to teach the babies about being kind to living things. The staff have been making the children aware of the importance of being gentle, speaking quietly not to scare the spider and snake and more importantly not to be afraid of them.
